Xbox Console: What Are the Three Red Lights?

One red light will mean that the system has failed or the actual gaming console has suffered from hardware failure. If you see 2 red lights on then the system is overheating. To avoid damage you will get a message to turn off the console and allow it to cool.
The most destruction indication is when all three light come on an this condition is known as the red ring of death. When this happens it means that your game system has experienced hardware breakdown and it will need to be sent back to Microsoft for repair.
Normally, people experience this problem while they are playing a game. The system just shuts down without any advance warning. After shutting it down and letting it cool down for an hour or two, they turn the system back on again and this is when they will see the three red rings of death.
Microsoft extended the warranty of their Xbox system due to the many problems they were having and from the adverse impact the ring of death had on their console. Howerver it is always better to prevent this from happening rather than facing repair. In order to avoid experiencing the red ring of death on your Xbox 360 gaming console is to constantly keep it cool and well-ventilated. You should also know that the red ring of death occurs due to overheating which can damage the console. Do not put your Xbox console on a display case. Instead, place it on a well-ventilated spot or you can also purchase a small fan and keep it pointed on your Xbox 360 while you are playing.
You might want to try playing with your Xbox 360 on an air conditioned room. Good circulation will prevent your console from overheating and thus avoid hardware failure. Good ventilation is absolutely necessary to avoid the red ring of death.
